The Arleigh Burke class of stealth guided missile destroyers is a United States Navy class of destroyer . The Arleigh Burke class was built around the Aegis Combat System and the SPY-1D multifunction passive electronically scanned array radar. Originally tasked with defending against Soviet aircraft, missiles and submarines, this potent destroyer is now used in high-threat areas to conduct anti-air, anti-submarine, anti-surface, and land attack operation

These warships were designed as multimission destroyers able to fulfill the strategic land strike role. The Type 055 destroyer also called the Renhai-class cruiser according to NATO is a class of stealth guided missile destroyers being constructed for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force.  It is a multi-mission design; the combination of sensors and weapons suggests a main role of area air defence, with anti-submarine warfare capabilities surpassing previous Chinese surface combatants.

The Arleigh Burke class cost $1.8 Billion dollar per ship which is more expensive compared to the Type 055 costing only $900 Million dollars .

The arleigh Burke class has an overall length of 155 m which is shorter to it's rival.its displacement  range is from 8230 tons 9700 tons but the flight II A is 9300 long tons compared to the Type 055 Which is 13000 tons. Both the destroyers has a beam of 20m .

The draft of the Arleigh Burke class is 9.3m while the draft of the Type 055 is 6.6m

The Arleigh Burke is powered by 4 General Electric LM2500 gas turbine each generating 26265 HP which is a total power of 105000 HP. While the propulsion power of Type 055 by 4 QC 280 gas turbine generating 35,000 HP which is a total power of 150000 HP.

The Arleigh Burke stealth technique such as the angled radar traditional vertical surfaces nd the tripod main mast makes the ship more difficult to attack in particular by anti ship missile (ASH).The Hull and super structure employs shaping technique to presence angle that bounce or scatter the radar return. While the Type 055 adopts a conventional hull with distinct stealthy feature include a bulbous bow that hides mooring points, anchor chains and other equipment. The bow and main deckhouse are configured similarly to previous Type 052C/D destroyers..
